Websites, hosting and email

Small business sites built by hand, so they load fast, cost almost nothing to run, and belong to you rather than to a platform charging rent.

An open laptop on a table

Built by hand, not assembled

A five-page site for a local business doesn't need a content system, a page builder and forty plugins. We write the pages in HTML and CSS and host them as static files. They come up in under a second on a phone with two bars, which is where most people will see yours.

You get the files. Fall out with us in three years and you can hand the folder to anybody and it'll still work.

What we build

New sites

  • One-pagers for trades and sole traders
  • Brochure sites: services, area, contact
  • Enquiry and booking forms that actually arrive
  • Galleries of finished work
  • Price lists and downloadable PDFs
  • Google Business Profile and local search

Behind it

  • Domain registration and transfers
  • DNS, SSL and renewals handled
  • SPF, DKIM and DMARC, so your mail stops landing in spam
  • Business email on your own domain
  • Daily backups and uptime monitoring

Fixing what's there

  • Sites that take five seconds to load
  • Accessibility audits and remediation
  • Mobile layouts that fell apart
  • Sites left behind by a developer who vanished
  • Moving off Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy or old WordPress
  • Cleaning up after a hack

Afterwards

  • Content updates and new pages
  • Price and opening-hour changes
  • Analytics and Search Console, summarised monthly

Prices

A one-off build cost, then a small monthly figure for hosting. Nothing renews quietly at triple the price.

Why not WordPress

A plugin-heavy site is a maintenance job. Something wants updating every week, an update eventually breaks the layout, and an unpatched plugin is far and away the most common way a small business site gets defaced.

A static site has nothing to exploit and nothing to update. The catch is that you ring us for changes instead of logging into a dashboard. On a five-page site that's a handful of changes a year. If you're posting twice a week it doesn't work out, and we'll say so and build you something else.

What we need to start

  • Your services and roughly what you charge
  • The area you cover
  • Photos of real work — phone photos are fine
  • A logo, or we'll set your name properly in type
  • Access to your domain, or we'll register one

No content ready? That's the usual reason a site stalls for six months. Give us half an hour on the phone and we'll draft the pages for you to correct.

Common questions

How long does a website take to build?

A one-page site is usually one to two weeks. A five-page brochure site is two to four weeks, measured from when we have your content, not from when you first get in touch.

Why don't you use WordPress or a page builder?

A plugin-heavy site needs constant updating and is the most common way a small business site gets defaced. A hand-built static site has nothing to exploit, loads faster, and costs less to host.

Can you move my site off Wix or Squarespace?

Yes. We rebuild the pages as a static site, point your domain at the new hosting, and cancel the old platform once everything's checked and live.

Do I own the website once it's built?

Yes. You own the files and the domain outright. There's no monthly platform fee, and if you ever move on, the folder works wherever you host it.
